I picked this up instead of renting a 'name brand' one from the local home improvement mega-mart.To go with the nailer I also bought a box of Hitachi brand 1 3/4", 0.092" coil siding nails. The combination of Hitachi nails and "Valu-Air" nailer worked just fine and I had no tool-related jams or problems. At 100PSI the nails were almost punching through the siding, so I dialed air regulator (not included with this item) on my compressor to deliver ~75PSI to the tool which was perfect for driving the nails fully through 1/4" HardiePlank (cement/fiberboard) siding. My only complaints are that it just came in a cardboard box (lacking the cheap, but better-than-nothing blow-molded case Chinese tools usually come in) and it is *very* eager to rapid fire. I had a sketchy time reliably squeezing off singles with the trigger. Holding the trigger down and pressing the firing head to the siding was more predictable for me. I still had a couple doubles over the course of a couple hundred nails, but no doubt that was more of a technique problem than anything with the tool.(Also, get some Gecko Gauges if you're going to be doing Hardie Plank by yourself-- they work great!)

Used this to do 280 ft of picket fence. Put over 6000 nails through it. Worked great. Had a few jams but nothing that didn't take a minute or two to clear. Good tool for the money. Very happy with the purchase.

I have put approx 10,000 - 1 3/4" galvanized rink shank nails through the gun. I have had 3 major jams, but with a small punch and a tap of a hammer it was fixed easily.I oil the gun daily (when using it ). I found spraying wd 40 on the rail that feeds the nails helps.I have used other brands (expensive) that have jammed more often. I use this gun to build wood fence commercially, so the rate of fire is very fast, and can keep up. super impressedThis gun does not have and depth adjustment like the competition, but i took a few test fires while adjusting the air pressure and found 90-95 psi with a 1/4" PVC hose is perfect

Junk. Cheap rotary magazine broke off. Jams a lot. Also doesn’t feed properly and misfires next nail. Then to top it all off it shoots double a lot. Sometimes it just doesn’t feed- but after 4 or 5 misfires then it’s fine again.seriously-don’t buy. All I bought this for was to put siding on a shed and it can’t handle that even.Spend the money on a real one… not this junk.

I'm using this gun and 1-3/4 in., galv., ring shank nails, and it works great. You do have to adjust the air pressure to not over drive the nails. I settled on 80-85 psi which sets the nails flush.I'd rather under drive the nails and then hammer them flush, vs over driving the nail through the Hardie board, and then have to shoot another nail next to it.I put 2 drops of the included pneumatic oil in the air inlet before using it and have had no jams and only a couple of double hits when I'm not careful with the trigger.Overall, it's a great gun for the price.

Didn’t shoot every nail. Misfired every other shot

As the title says, this nailer will get the job done, eventually. I’ve had a slew of issues using this nailer, none of which couldn’t be overcome, but all of them slowed me down considerably during use. Since starting my project, I’ve had consistent misfires (where no nail comes out) and the occasional double fire (where somehow TWO nails fire out), and on three separate occasions, a nail inversion jam (nail fires, and the next nail somehow turns over and jams in the nailer). None of these issues are insurmountable, but they all take time to overcome. Trying to unjam the nailer when two nails tried to occupy the same spot took close to an hour each time. So, if your under time constraints this nailer might not be for you. Also, the exhaust is both insanely loud and horribly placed. The exhaust is pointed upwards, so if you use the nailer at a position below your face, you’ll get the exhaust blasted straight in your face. If you also happen to oil the nailer as prescribed in the manual, which says daily, you’ll get a nice coating of oil all over your face as well. Considering how expensive the other bigger brand nailers are, I’m happy with my purchase as a DIYer. But if I were a professional or someone who did this more regularly, I’d consider something else.

I had an offsite job and forgot my Metabo coil nailer. Instead, I took a chance on getting this nailer through Amazon next day and was not disappointed. Loading was easy but the measurements inside the drum were metric while the nails it uses are standard US sizes. No bother, once I had it adjusted, this baby punched out nails as fast and furious as my more expensive Metabo. The material used in construction seems a bit lightweight - hardened plastic instead of aluminum housing, so it remains to be seen how it will hold up over time. That said, operation and adjustment is smooth and a good option for backup, weekend warrior, or primary driver for occasional professional use.
