I've had one of these for years and it has worked like a champ. When I needed another siding nailer I let a local store talk me into a Hitachi. Bad move. Everybody hated it and fought over the Max. When the Hitachi needed service after just two months I bought another Max and now everyone is happy. I'd guess my original Max has shot over 100,000 nails and never had to be repaired.

Do not confuse with the CN565S2' which is the new replacement, which is NOT made in Japan, bit made in Thailand , and does not met the standard of the original. My unit does not set nains consistently anf has hammed numerous times. I am pitting up cedar shingles as siding on a wall and should be able to handle thr with no difficulty but that is not the case as I have to down ech row and set nails with a hammer. I am bringing it back and getting the new hitachi.

After reading several positive reviews, I purchased the Max CN565S in May. Initially, I had no problems, but just after my first coil of nails, it began to jam and jam consistently. In fact, it jammed so hard, I had to take it in for service. Even after being looked at by service, the gun continues to misfire and jam off and on. I'm a bit disappointed to say the least, but some times things do go wrong. It's entirely possible that I purchased a bad batch of coiled nails, I just can't put my foot on it, but it's working reasonably well so I'll leave well enough alone. On the plus side: the gun is balanced and light weight. The depth setting was easy to use, but maintaining the setting is a choir. My gun was serviced by Duo-Fast Northeast. Nice folks; prompt service.

I have been doing siding for 10+ years used hitachi for most projects but this feels more durable in your hand its more precise then the hitachi for what I have seen. Since I bought it a few months ago I finished 6 large homes and a 27 unit 3 story apartment 5" in reveal with just this gun. Great product! The only cons are did't discover this gun earlier.
