Works great. I use it mainly for cement board siding, (Hardie), and it is perfect for that. I have used it for a little bit of plywood fastening, also works well, accurate depth adjustment. Easy to load, adjust the depth, light weight, nice case, etc. Only complaint: the switch to choose between bump-fire, (contact), and sequential is a little too easy to move by itself. The gun will start to cycle slowly and then I eventually realize that the switch is halfway between the two. I only use bump-fire, so not sure if it works the same from sequential mode. Great gun!

I am so impressed with this nailer. Very easy to set up, comfortable to hold, light weight, powerful - a great product! I am a big fan of Makita power tools - have been since the 70's but, was not familiar with their pneumatic lone of products. I have always used Bostich and have had no issues. However, in this case, I decided to try the Makita. I am glad I did! This coil nailer is definitely up to the quality standards of Makita manufacturing I have experienced with their power tool lines - corded and battery powered. I am shooting 1-1/2 and 1-3/4 siding nails for both hardy plank and ABS plywood. No misfires or jams after 3000 shots. Nail depth is very easy to set on the fly. The magazine is easy to load and I really like being able to view the nail coil for both feed and amount of nails remaining - fewer trips up and down on a ladder as you know when it is getting time for a reload. Changing nail sizes is a breeze. A simple twist of the coil platform in the cage and you are in business. My only regret is not having purchased one before now....to make up for it, maybe I will have to buy another!

This is a very reliable gun. I'm a contractor who does a fair amount of siding/exterior trim work (primarily repairs, not whole houses), and I've had literally one jam in probably 10,000 nails. The one jam I did have was totally avoidable as I shot through the siding into concrete block accidentally. The nose safety got stuck in the retracted position and was quickly bumped back into place. The depth control is great and it actually works unlike some pneumatic guns out there! Another favorite feature is the selectable firing switch...much better than swapping the trigger itself out!

I bought this for my Hardiplank residing job on the house. I'm a pneumatic tool newbie, so I can't compare with other siding nailers, but I'm pretty well satisfied. Adjustments are easy, weight is light, nice belt hook for getting it out of the way when I'm on a ladder, easy loading, etc. My one complaint is that it occasionally fails to recycle after driving a nail. A pneumatic nailer works in two steps, driving the nail, and recycling (with air exhalation). When if fails to recycle, I either have to wait--it may recycle spontaneously after a few seconds--or wait even longer--the residual air eventually leaks out and it can operate again--or else unhook the air hose from the tool and reattach. The last method is the quickest solution, but also somewhat dangerous, since the tool often spits out a nail when I reattach the hose, so I have to be mindful of which direction it's pointing. Nail-driving operation itself is great, I just wish it didn't have the recycling uncertainty.Later edit: the recycling problem basically went away by the end of my siding job, so it may have been just a breaking-in issue, or user error, or something to do with the nail size, etc. I never had any problems with nail loading.

I used framing nailers for fencing in the past. Comparing to that this nailer is a total rock star. It takes less air, and is much lighter than a framing nailer, while it is loaded with 5 times as many nails than a framing nailer. Means, less time wasted for reloading. The different settings of this nailer are also great, especially if you want to go fast.Quality wise, it's Makita quality, means top of the line.

bought this as a used tool it was in pretty good condition. It never misfires and the nails are always perfectly set. I replaced another nailer that I purchased new that couldn't set a nail consistently and had double fire problems. The Makita never double fires and never mis-sets the nail.

I am a contractor with many years of experience with different nail guns, no gun should be this finicky if that is the problem, experience tells me it is the gun.Bought 1 and within 2 coils of nails seal blew out, returned it and bought another then after 500 nails gun started leaking oil at trigger, would not recover to reshoot, released air hose and re attached to reset, gun would then fire nail into the air without pulling trigger. Tried different pressures, nail depth settings no luck. Have now bought a Hitachi and it seems to be of much better quality out of the box.

When I checked into renting a siding nailer, they wanted to charge $300 for two weeks rental. That was all the justification I needed to buy one. I found this one at Amazon to have all the features I needed at a good price. It has great reviews. There is a bit of a break in process where it will occasionally double nail, but other than that, it has worked great for us. We oiled more often than recommended to help with the break in process.

Great!I've only worked it a couple days so far but it is performing as expected. No jams no problems. Nice lightweight, and way better than the Bostitch equivalent.

Second Makita nailer. First one fell off the scaffold too many times. Great nailer, has a hook!! Good weight and ergonomics, and a fair price and great delivery time. Assuming it holds up 5 years like the first it'll get five stars. Only negative is that it took three days of use to 'work in' and not misfire or double fire, which I don't remember from my first one. Way better than bostich, not sure how it compares to other brands.
