Installed on my boat trailer by drilling and threading to make it solid. I thought it would have 2 speeds that one could shift to but it is only one at a time. Manual change-over required for other speed.

Purchased for the purpose of being a mounted load lock on a flat bed utility trailer instead of constant re-strapping with ratchet straps. This product features Nylock locking nuts, they will not back out in instances of heavy trailer vibration or from wear and tear. The handle on this item can be installed on the opposite side of the unit, all axle shafts must come out and be reinstalled on the opposite side for the gears to match up, the drum must come out before you can remove the silver cog, and the silver cog shaft is held in place by a E-Clip that can easily be removed with a flat head screw driver and be pressed into place when re-mounting on the opposite side.No grade ratings are indicated on the hook thou is assumed to have a working load of 2,000-3,500 pounds, the polyester strap is rated at 1,600 pounds and would be the weakest link before hook failure, hook is intended for straight pulls, sideway pulls may shorten this weight limit in half.This product features a heavy duty steel design and class 8.8 zinc bolts.

Nice small winch for boats or ATC etc. Plenty of strap to reach a most trailers to roll a small off road vehicle on. And of course for loading and securing small to midsize boats as well. I am going to use it to drag and secure our 12' john boat on to its flat deck carpeted trailer. Right now we have to drag it by hand so this will work great. Simple to mount and simple to use. Its welded together well and the steel is a good thickness where it needs to be.

A very simple, tried and true wench style, capable of use in a wide variety of applications. Bolting it to a boat trailer took about 30 minutes and it was ready to use. The nylon strap has all the strength and length needed for the average 20' fishing boat. The wench body has a protective coating to increase it's service life and is reasonably priced.This well made tool is easy to recommend to anyone searching for a simple wench with these moderate duty capabilities. Buy, wait, install.
