Loading your boat into your trailer used to be a monumental hassle. You'd have to attach your manual winch and then summon all your physical strength to pull and crank your boat into place as it fought gravity. With the Powerwinch RC 30 wireless remote winch, however, loading your boat is as easy as pressing a button on the remote and relaxing in a lawn chair. The RC 30 is outfitted with such construction features as a corrosion-resistant, zinc-plated frame, an aircraft-quality cable, a level wind system to prevent cable snarls, and a UV-resistant ABS plastic housing. As a result, the smooth-running, heat-treated gear system inside the winch holds up against long-life wear and tear. The sturdy construction details help the winch pull a boat as heavy as 11,500 pounds. The RC 30 also offers a vertical lift capacity of 4,000 pounds, with an option for doubling the pull/line capacity with the use of a pulley block (included) at the bow eye. This doubles your cable and halves the retrieval speed, giving you more strength (7,500 pounds) out of your trailer winch.

The RC 30 is powered via wireless remote, with remote power-in, freewheel-out operation. In addition, the RC 30 includes a couple of bonus features to help you out in a pinch, including a light enclosed in the trailer winch and an emergency crank conveniently stored in the winch cover. The Powerwinch RC 30 is backed by a one-year warranty.

My old winch of 20 years finally broke. I purchased this winch since it seemed heavy duty. But some of the features such as the remote and the light I thought was dubious. But boy was I pleasantly surprised! First, the winch installed in about 15 minutes. Secondly, the winch has more than enough power to for my 19’ Arima fully loaded. And third....much to my surprise, the remote and light will be a “must” if I ever need another winch! My girlfriend is new to boating. Some ramps I have to drive my boat onto the trailer. It was soooo easy to have her hook the line to the boat and then I was able to operate the winch! And lately when we’ve come back from fishing, it’s been dark when we got to the boat ramp. Rather than rely on poor lighting or holding a flashlight with one hand and awkwardly trying to clip the line to the boat with the other hand....the light works perfectly!Very impressed with the winch!

I don't tend to write reviews unless I am overwhelmed or underwhelmed. In this case, I am underwhelmed. First, the line that you run from the battery to the winch is a problem. For one, the ground only starts way back toward the back of your truck. Good luck finding somewhere back there to attach it that isn't all rusted out! How much could it cost to be able to ground it under the hood where you can make a clean/convenient connection. Then, I get it all wired, making sure not to waste any line, and it isn't even long enough to reach my winch! I won't go into the difficulty I had connecting it to my battery to begin with as that could be more about my vehicle than the connector (though maybe not). (I did come out to a truck that wouldn't start one morning because of the poor connection I had after a week of driving around without any problems). I called to complain that the cable wasn't long enough, and of course they suggest I must have wasted line. When I assured them I didn't, and asked if they had any kind of extension, the answer was no! Then the guy suggested a quick connect kit that might be a solution which is essentially an extension. I asked if they'd work with me on the cost as it is a $60 item and they said no-not even willing to cover the shipping! They did tell me that I could buy it cheaper from one of their distributors than I could from them. I ended up ordering it from Amazon because I have prime and could get it quickly. When it comes, you have to build/wire it. The wiring instructions refer to a larger wire and both wires are the same thickness! I wired it and took it down the boat, plugged it in, and nothing. Now I don't know if my ground is the problem, I wired it wrong, blew the fuse, blew the circuit breaker, or what? It will be a troubleshooting nightmare! How about a long enough wire to begin with, including the quick connect and making it s bit more plug and play king of thing. I have to spend yet another day trying to figure it out, and likely will have to go at the battery yet again which is a major challenge. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to power it and may end up using the manual override forever. Save your money and time and buy a good quality manual winch from someone else!

Great product makes life very easy and safe pulling my 23 foot cuddy cabin up on a trailer. Installation took about an hour biting power off of the trucks battery and running into the back of the car was the most difficult part but was actually quite simple when you get right down to it. The LED lights on the winch is a really nice feature if you ever have to load your boat at dusk and the remote makes me feel very safe when pulling the boat up you can stand well in the clear in case that cable whatever snapMy only bone I would pick with the winch would be a mechanism that would cause the winch to release when trying to let the boat off the trailer.I bought a plug and socket connector to interface between the truck and the boat trailer for quick connect and disconnect very simple very straightforward

I purchased the RC30 as a friend has one on his car trailer and has had decent luck with heavier cars than mine, although he has had nothing but trouble with the remote control. I have a smaller trailer so the remote was not an issue for me. However, this past weekend I had to use the winch for the first time to pull a friends car up, and after less than 5 minutes the winch failed and will not restart. This is unacceptable performance for any winch, and certainly one that costs as much as this one. I had a much lower capacity sub $100 winch from Harbor Freight previously that was slow but NEVER failed, and I thought I was upgrading.Forewarned is forearmed.I would not purchase this product again.

Had to correct the + and - wiring in the power plug. They were wired backwards. Burned out a few fuses.

I thought that this Powerwinch RC30 would be powerfull enough to pull my 23' Trophy boat on the trailer without having to use a double line pull. The unit just does not have the power to do it.
