The Wen stapler is an incredible value. I was surprised that a flooring stapler 1/3 the price of Bostitch would perform as well as this one does. I had looked at that brand first because I rented one years ago and had a big stock of leftover staples in their unique size. It's not exactly 1/4" crown, and maybe it would work interchangeably, but I didn't try.I installed about 300 square feet of flooring in my living room using about 3,000 staples without a single jam. I only had one double-fire which was my error for letting the tool bounce. The depth adjustment took me 3 tries to dial in, as the instructions were not entirely clear on how to set it. I found that I needed to let both of the moving pieces float while I set the stapler firmly in the groove of the flooring, then rotated the stapler away from me until the bottom plate laid flat on the floor, but not so far that the back of the top plate rose up from the flooring. Once the screws were set and tightened as hard as I could do it by hand, they never loosened on their own.I wish someone would figure a way to articulate the tool body to get the last couple rows of flooring stapled- this is an issue with any brand of stapler- you can't staple the last 3 rows closest to the wall. I used a brad nailer for the 3rd row, rotated parallel to the flooring and was able to reach the 45 degree angle required. The next row I nailed straight down through the tongue, and the final row I trimmed off the bottom groove, glued to the tongue and face-nailed very close to the wall where the trim would cover it.

I got this as it was one of the cheapest nailers that I could get that was to put in my hardwood floors. I put in 1500sqft of flooring and this thing still works like new. Surprising quality for the price. Would 100% recommend for a someone doing a flooring job on there own.

This is the tool to buy if you are putting down some 3/8" engineered hardwood in your house. This is not the tool to buy if you are going to do that for a living. It works well for the intended application. The adjustment knobs for the cleat come come loose constantly, making it difficult to set it and forget it. The trigger is also pressure sensitive, as in if you don't pull it fully, it will fire, but not set a staple, REALLY annoying in thin material. The difference between this tool and a professional level version is noticeable, but if you are looking at this, its probably to do with price and you would be ok to not be able to move as fast as a professional gun will allow. As long as you pay attention to the cleat adjustment and fully pull the trigger, not just tap it, it sets the staples very well. Its perfectly adequate for its intended purpose. If you are going to use it daily, there are better options out there. I have put 10k staples through it, no jams at all, and it shows no signs of any issues in terms of performance or appearance. If the cleat would stay put, it would be a 4.5, and if the trigger would only allow a full shot, you have a 5 star tool. Overall, its a very good tool with minor issues. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I bought this to install 5/8" thick tongue & groove ceiling boards. This is the max thickness the shoe can be adjusted to. I installed about 550 square ft of ceiling boards and the only issue was occasionally it would fire 2 staples. Operator error. LolNot holding the gun tight enough and bounce caused trigger to pull again.I used 1-1/2" stainless steel staples. Not one jamb. I would not hesitate to buy this again.

User errorThe shoe did come loose once or twice but not a big deal just re tighten and keep on goingVery easy to use and set up Anyone can use itFor the money you can't go wrong Very Pleased with the purchase

I used this tool to fasten 3/8" thk. engineered wood flooring with ease, I should have bought this tool sooner, I'm very satisfied with the result and it's 4 in 1 tool not just for fastening floor.

Did over 600 sq ft of engineered oak floor with 1 1/2 inch staples and not a single misfire. Because the shoe is removable I also used it to secure roof sheathing on my 13×16 deck roof. Cost was equal to 3 days stapler rental @ HD. Because rooms were furnished it took a week and a 1/2 to lay the floors with no pressure to return a rental.

Worked great for the job it was bought for, very light, not for heavy use but great for someone that has small jobs to do around house. Found stapling head for groove and tongue boards worked great but flimsy. I will get my money's worth out of this 18-Gauge Pneumatic Flooring Nailer and Stapler.
