As a grown up I've never done a paint by number before. I mainly bought this cuz I really like the mushroom print for the vibrant colors. Now that I'm staring at it I don't even know where to begin. The background is black and I don't know if I should start with that. But I figure it doesn't have to be perfect if I just get the areas in general painted I don't have to be so careful about being within the lines.

I am very pleased with the finished picture. I only gave 4 stars because some of the numbers were so tiny they were illegible. In the places the numbers were too small I just looked at the photo that came with the kit and painted to closely match that photo. I did run very low on the gray paint but scraped the bottom and was able to get enough to complete the picture. I plan to frame the picture to hang in our guest bedroom.

I've completed 4 paint by number kits and I'm here to warn you that this one may not actually be doable.First of all, the canvas is pre-shaded, which is kind of helpful, but also makes it hard to read the numbers, especially in tight spots. Yes, there is a printed sheet with the numbers, but they are even harder to read than the ones on the canvas!Second of all, the paint pots are the tiniest I've ever seen. I'd be shocked if I didn't run out of some of the colors, especially since you have to lay it on pretty thick to cover the shading, numbers, and lines.Also, the paint brushes it comes with are far too large to use to complete this painting. There are some very, very thin lines in this design, so if you get this, plan to buy some 5/0 or 10/0 liner brushes since none are included.This frog is cute, but I should have known better because of the price point. You get what you pay for with these things.I recommend spending the money on a quality kit instead of getting one like this. My favorites are a brand called Schipper (they have some here on Amazon). They range from like $40-$70 plus shipping, but I'm telling you it's worth it. The only reason I bought this cheap one is because I ordered 2 Shippers at the same time, but one was on back order. I finished the first earlier than I thought and have to wait 3 weeks before the next comes.I haven't decided if I want to push forward and try to do this one, or if I want to call it now before I get frustrated or run out of paint. I'll update this review with results if I continue on.

The canvas and paints are fine but the drawing shows areas that share a border have the same yellow (#3) color. This doesn’t seem correct, it appears to be missing another color(s)

The light colours are a bit sheer but it only takes a few coats. The colours don't dry up fast and are lovely and pigmented

I had to order two- the first one I ordered had all the wrong colors. Second one was more correct, but it seems from completed photos there’s 3 different color schemes. Overall super happy how it turned out
