I just received this one, but I have had me existing FINISHPRO 42XP for almost 10 years and have used it extensively. Only replacing it because the safety trigger mechanism is worn out and the replacement parts are stupid expensive with the shipping and lead time. Easier to buy a new gun. But, this thing has suffered many falls from a ladder and keeps working. The hard case is absolutely the way to transport and store it. Very good product.

Finish/detail/custom woodworker. When all my old porter cable guns finally became unreliable & lose air, I started looking for a good old school brand name that hadn't fallen to cheap manufacturing standards or only last a year or so. I had owned some Senco stuff in Aussie years ago, which were quality tools. I kept returning to this Senco gun after looking at many, & my closest runner up would've been the Makita.I went & bought a few Sencos local here in Oregon, & decided to get this 1 through Amazon.Sooo glad that I did! I love getting to use it, it looks as cool as a Hotrod & performs just as good!I messed around with rebuild kits for the old Porter Cables, but should've just bailed on that idea & got this ages ago.Hope it lasts for many years to come, & going by how it's put together, I gather it will. Get it!

No pics of my finish gun people. I can upload one soon if it really matters. I love the weight to power ratio of this gun. I use a smaller Senco hook on it at the fitting. The hook has slop to move from the left to right side depending on what I need. I've just had the hook for that long. Perhaps a step drill bit will help you get the desired diameter quicker than simply using it. Ok, back to the gun. I primarily shoot 2'' and 2-1/2'' Senco nails from my gun. I have no complaints. When I shoot into something and the nail jams and bunches up, the nose assembly is easy access to open and free the fouled up metal and reset the latch. Disconnect the air first! The air discharge port directional is easy to move to which ever 360 direction you need. I like the depth of drive adjustment as well, threads near the nose piece. There is a keeper for the rubber nose piece at the rear of the magazine near the air fitting if you need it off but want it close by. I had the same gun when they were gun metal with a red band around the firing pin housing (2004). This is my second red one in case Senco changes this gun and I can't get it anymore. I have a red one in service now. The firing pin broke on the '04 and I couldn't find a replacement for it so I bought a red one. I used it quite bit. Buy one, use it, take care of it, be safe, have fun with it! It will take care of you!

Used it for a small patch of sidings on my house. It worked fine. I'm not a professional user. The front latch to get out a jammed nail is pratical. It didn't jam that much (twice at the end of the nail strip) and I'm not using senco nails, so seems fine to me.The same gun costs in EU around 500 euro, even with shipping and tax this was a cheaper buy. Ok warranty wouldn't be that easy, but buying a type and mark that is sold in the EU as well, would mean that repairs to the gun are possible. The plastic box is a bit bulky but for a DIY user it's nice to have something to store it in.

I thought air tools were basically all the same until I bought this. I will probably only buy Senco now.

Staples do not fit. Used Senco staples as stated and can not slide them into the grove. Now the time period to return is overwith and not sure what I am going to do. With a complete disaster burned down house I just didn't have time to try them until today. Not happy. Anyone know if Amazon will make an exception?

I've used the gun for about a week sofar. It struggles to fire DA style nails in hardie trim. My old hitachi doesn't mushroom hardie but this gun seems to no matter the setting. Full head individual nails seem to not be a problem at all into anything.I will update this as I go, I have a few interior finish jobs lined up.
