This winch works great. It has ratcheting action in both directions, the spool has a larger diameter than the one that originally came with the trailer. It makes it much easier to operate. It’s designed much sturdier than the previous unit. The strap remains flat when being rewound and the loop strap on the hook makes coupling it to the jet ski super simple. I’m extremely pleased with the way it works!

So I ordered this for my ‘95 Shoreland’r PWC trailer. I’m cheap and bought the trailer to bring back to life. I needed a new winch and strap as I was having a hard time getting the old winch to release at the ramp. I found this, priced right, and ordered it. Seems high quality and functions as it should. Included the strap which was nice.

It seems to be a good replacement for the old factory set up, only problem I have is the box clearly states it is a 4:1 gear ratio. Depending how or what you plan to use this for that is very important. All in all satisfied but would have liked a 3:1 ratio winch.

It took me ten minutes or less to install this winch on my boat trailer. It looks good and seems to be well built . I haven’t used it yet .
