These are good generic and budget friendly alternative to the Peak Design clips. Also Peak’s clips are great but its straps are not super comfortable. I used these clips to turn my old neoprene straps into easy on/off straps like Peak’s.

Overall, they are nice quick-release buckles, and they are basically compatible with PD release plates, pretty smooth.I also tore down one of the buckles, and the string is Nylon only. This might be an issue if you use it heavily; it may be worn out quickly, so please check it more often.I also checked the joining part; it is glued. This won't be an issue when hanging lightweight things, but I may not trust them much for everyday use.

Okay, I ordered these because I have used this kind of PD system for a great many years but I have a limited amount of discs because they are a little expensive. So I ordered these to see how they would be at a considerably cheaper price. First of all, the buckles look similarto the PD ones, but are of cheaper construction. For one, they are harder to press down, The PD ones have an enclosed spring. These are just bent over pieces of sheet metal. Thicker sheet metal, but still just bent over sheet metal that needs to be pressed down. So, I also think they will be quicker to rust, if you live in a more tropical climate like mine. The straps seem to be of the correct size though, the slots in the buckle will fit the strapping. The discs, are angled like the original PD discs, but their construction is lesser too. You can tell immediately, that the loops of twine/rope are nothing special just regular twine. Not the reinforced loops that you get with PD. I think I will be using these on my less expensive equipment, they don't rate risking of expensive glass or cameras. They do work and are compatible but nowhere near as robust or as quality.
