These are a bit thin and do need to be cleaned, then polished if you want a shiny piece. This can easily be achieved by scrubbing with 000 steel wool, or even lightly and quickly using a wet Brillo pad. You can then polish them with a polishing cloth ( I use the Sunshine brand sold here on Amazon) and can get a really nice shine on these blanks. They look more like a slightly darker brass, than bronze, but still very nice color. Maybe a patina can be applied for a darker, richer look, but I haven't tried that. They are a bit on the thinner side, but can be stamped and domed, so long as you don't use to much pressure/weight on your tools. You may need to try it out on a few blanks before you learn how hard to strike on them so you get the outcome you are looking for. If you are okay with these being a bit on the lighter/thinner side, you will be happy with this purchase. , All in all, I find these to be pretty nice in quality where you can obtain a good quality finish with just a light cleaning and some hand polishing. All for a very nice price.

I wanted to try these after reading the very mixed reviews. They ARE very thin, but I found them easy to work with. On my first try, I stamped "love" and it came out very shallow. It looks fine and is readable, but I decided to try something different on the second one. For "joy" I placed a thin piece of cardboard on top of the metal block, under my tag. This gave me a nice, deep impression. I had to apply much less pressure than I usually do when stamping, and I found this to be a good thing. I like that they are light, and there are so many in the pack for such a great price, that it's no big deal if I mess a few up. That takes the pressure off and makes stamping even more fun.

These worked perfectly for the project I was completing with my daughter. A few things to consider before buying:1) They DO need to be polished to be "bronze"2) The pre-punched holes are only big enough for a paper clip to go through, no bigger3) They bend easily so handle with care

These blanks are way too thin for metal stamping. These will def not work for my jewelry making.

Exactly what I wanted and as described. I was hesitant to order due to all of the negative reviews as I was hoping to use these for stamping. It took a couple of tries to get the right amount of force down but I don't seem to have a problem. They are very thin but it states that in the description. I guess it's all in what you are looking for. I was going for a rustic look. Great price and perfect for my projects

UTTER GARBAGE!!!! DO NOT BUY! Impossible to stamp. Paper thin and bad finish. Does not matter what stamps you use or how much force you apply it will not work either way, it will either hardly make a distinct imprint or bend it unrecognizably. Cheap trash! Buy at your own risk!

So, all the negative reviews about the thinness or the metal not actually being bronze obviously didn't read the description. I love these because they are as I expected. Small and thin. No problem using metal stamps on them other than they like to curl and that's no big deal. The only thing that would make me like these more would be a bigger hole. Even a small split ring won't fit, but a jump ring will and I can just put the split ring through that. You get a lot of these and it was a very reasonable price when I purchased.

I knew these were "ultra thin", but that's an understatement. They suggest using these for metal stamping practice. That's what I wanted them for. They are WAY too thin for that. They curl up under the slightest hit and if you hit hard enough to annually imprint the letter properly you'll end up with damaged stamps. Under light pressure my stamp went through the blank enough to dent the bench block. Any lighter in pressure and you can't see the letter stamp clearly. These are NOT suitable for stamp practice unless you plan on buying new stamps as bench blocks. They are simply too thin to get enough depth for stamping.I wish I had paid more attention to the size. The description doesn't give the thickness aide from "ultra thin". The expanded details show the .33 mm thickness. I took the description at face value and now I'm left with about 195 useless pieces of metal. I'm sure they could be used for some crafts, but not for metal stamping like I intended.

slightly smaller than i had anticipated but my own fault otherwise the product is exactly as described.

I used a 6mm stamp on these (steel anvil) and worked perfectly. Consistent 'antique' does not come off and has resisted all corrosion. Quite small, they were used for a dog collar for a terrier (digs a lot).
