This dress can be used for costuming for a variety of time periods. We ordered brown and the color is a muted brown, without too much orange. The fabric is thin, but that is to be expected. You will definitely need to wear a crinoline under this dress to achieve the look shown in the photo. It could also work well with two crinolines for a fluffier look as well. It really looks great on stage and up close.
