I happened to have a Harbor Freight Tools micrometer on hand so before placing my order I measured my SUV's roof-top luggage rack tube. Surprisingly, it measured EXACTLY 1.5 inches in diameter.This item installed perfectly and frankly, could probably hold my entire body weight (I tried it). It holds rock solid. The product is very high quality and fits exactly as described.
