My husband prefers bring his lunch to work and two of his favorite meals are gumbo and chili, which is almost always served with rice. The problem with that is you do not add your rice until you are ready to eat it, so he was always having to take an extra container or ziplock bag to hold the rice. Not only did that take up extra room he really didn't have in his bag, it has always been a pain. This thermos container solved that problem and a few others.The capacity is 40 ounces, but there is a separate bowl that sits on top to separate the food. So his gumbo or chili can go in the bottom and his rice in the bowl. He just dumps the rice in before he eats it.The thermos is double insulated and states it will keep food hot for 8 hours or cold for 6 hours. He eats lunch approximately 5 hours after leaving the house and hasn't had to reheat anything yet, because it's still hot. He hasn't taken anything cold in it yet.It's easy to open and close and there is a snap piece on the lid that holds/hides a foldable spoon. That's just another spacer saver. Cleaning it only takes a couple of minutes. We hand wash and let it air dry. It doesn't leak and has a silicone base to keep it from sliding around.So far it's meeting our needs and expectations.

Very useful and inexpensive, the jar itself doesn't look big but it can actually hold a lot of things and it keeps the food warm well until I get off work (at least 5 hours). The lid has a silicone ring to prevent leakage.

This item is really useful and was effective in keeping hot food warm for multiple hours, I appreciate the quality of the materials, but the capacity of the train vessel is not 40oz. I’m guessing that the 40oz may be combined between the main vessel and the additional storage compartment that I have yet to use but am excited to try! The main vessel is about 25-30oz and is great for an adult meal or 2 :)

I was excited to try this because price was reasonable. I'm a little disappointed. It doesn't keep food warm very long. Lukewarm at best.Difficult to open without spillage.

This thermos has worked perfectly at keeping meals warm during these colder months. When I am working outdoors, it keeps my meals still warm 5-6 hours later (I haven't tested it any longer than that).The size/capacity is impressive. It may look small, but I was able to get 2 slices of 3 layer lasagna in with no problem. For reference it can hold 3.75" high, and the opening is just about 5 inches wide, which makes it super easy to get the food in there with no mess.I really like that the base fits right in my palm, so at times when I don't have a place to set it while I eat, it's not awkward to hold. This has definitely been a lifesaver in saving money on bought lunches, and not wasting leftovers.
