I bought this for my adult daughter for her birthday. She absolutely loved it!! The peacock feather was perfect. All the pieces were securely packed in the box, and nothing was broken. The pieces are metal, not plastic. Each piece has a nice weight and feels luxurious. The book is beautiful and surprisingly not a cheap vinyl as you might think. I was a little worried about that, but it is just as wonderful as the rest of the items. My daughter loves the set. I highly recommend it!!

This is a nice gift calligraphy set with fun journal, several colors of sealing wax, a very cool “gear” wax stamp, and feather quil set. The biggest issue I had with the set was how the feather quill is a little awkward to hold and use. The nibs are a good beginner set of dip nibs. They held a decent amount of ink, and with a little trial and error I figured out the optimal dip depth to get enough ink but not too much. The barrel of the quill is metal and the end has a fun gilded feather (it was bent when I got it but a little warm water and air drying reshaped it just fine) the gift box it came with had almost everything you need to get started. I did not try the included ink because I have a favorite type of dip ink and I rarely write in blue.By far the highlight for me of the set is the sealing wax. There is a small jar of wax pieces and a spoon to melt it in. The seal is a series of gears which fit the steam punk vibe of the whole set. It came with a single piece of “parchment” weathered looking paper, an envelope and a journal with more metal accents on the cover.

Was delighted to open the box and see the lovely gift set. It is packaged nicely and the quill pen, stamp handle and letter opener are heavy and seem well-crafted. The wax seal head is a bit light-weight compared to other seals I have and the design doesn't appear to have much relief to it, so will be interesting to see how well it turns out when I test it.The notebook cover is wonderfully decorated and feels reasonably sturdy. I was surprised to find that the papers are held in place by binder-type rings so its easily refillable, although having them actually stitched in would have made it a little more special.All in all, it was a delight to open this set and I know I will enjoy using it.
