I scanned my OBD and came up with the code po442. EVAP problem. Googled the code and it was a quick no tools needed test. I went to 2 chain auto parts stores and they each wanted about $80. I decided to look on Amazon. Wow, roughly $20 and was here in 1 day. I disconnected the battery to reset the vehicle computer while installing it. I think disconnecting the battery was more difficult and longer to do than installing the part. Reconnected the battery and the idiot light was off. Yeaaaa This part works great and is so much cheaper. Good quality product.I would buy again.

The Purge valve solenoid failed at just over a thousand miles! Started hearing a very weird hum sound and my check engine light came back on was P0443 purge control valve circuit DTC and the valve is getting really hot.. I already tossed the old one and the box this one came in or id request a refund.

For the price it was worth buying just to see if it fixed my check engine light. At the end of the day I bought this and a new gas cap (gas cap first, which didn't do the trick). Once I swapped this out for the old one the check engine light went away and has stayed off. Whew! On to safety/emissions inspection.

I installed on my 2001 jeep Wrangler TJ, which was throwing a P0456 code, “evaporation leak”. I disconnected the battery, installed this evap canister, and changed my gas cap as well. The P0456 code went away and hopefully, it will stay away. We will see.

Out of the box defective part and replacement was missing the rubber grommet to hang it inside the truck, with this part you're letterley getting what you paid for
