This is the upgraded version of the Hitachi NV65H. I have never owned a siding nailer before so my review and opinions lack expertise. This nailer has the nail height adjustment in an easier to reach location than the older model and there is a switch to change between one nail per pull and nail per touch. On many other guns you have to actually change out the trigger (a separate purchase) . It also has a movable exhaust on the top of the head, which you will want to adjust to keep the compressed air from hitting you in the face. The gun itself is light weight, compact and tough although the nail coiler is made of a very durable plastic. Mine did not come with a hook which would be very useful as siding takes a lot of handling. Take the time to oil (no more that 5 drops) and adjust the gun properly for nail depth. That took over 12 practice nails to achieve but using the guns adjustments is more accurate than only adjusting the pressure regulator on your compressor (unless your tank pressure never drops below regulated pressure). Do your practice nails in a separate mock up of your siding and substrate. Many siding nails are ringtailed and glued so once they go in they don't come out without ruining the siding. Make sure the lead nails on the coil go into the correct grooves on the feeder as there are a number of grooves. I had wire collated nails and the wire never jammed the gun once although we were shooting quite rapidly. I used the Gecko gauges and an EZi height gauge (along with a chalk line to stay on the studs) and flew through the install process with a helper bringing up the siding planks while I moved the Geckos. I covered the same area it took me an entire day to measure and screw in two hours using the gun and gauges. Thumbs up to Amazon Prime, when I realized how time consuming and tedious measuring and screwing the planks were, I signed up for Amazon Prime, ordered the gun, nails and gauges on Friday and got them in time to use them on Monday. I had avoided paying for Prime before because of the yearly fee but it was worth it for this job and I didn't even know I got free movies to boot.

Perfect nailer easy to use. I've tried other brands but do not match up with this one bought a duo fast the next day returned it. Bottom line if your going to buy a nailer buy a good one that will last it will save you money in the long run. FYI nails are readly available for this brand unlike others. Good luck

Bought this to tack up some T1-11 siding on a shed. This review is after about 1500 nails. Works quite well, although bump mode does rarely double-fire. Had one or two jams, but I figure that's inevitable as well. Solid product (the lighter weight compared to its competitors is very nice when you're working arms high on a ladder), well recommended. Four stars because of the (rare) jams and misfires - I won't give a perfect review for less than perfect performance. But, I figure it's part and parcel of these tools, so I still recommend it.

I bought one of these to side my house along with a box of Hitachi 13367 2-1/4 inch nails and I used LP Smart siding. I drove in just over 3,000 nails with the gun and only had 2 double hits and one jam that was probably my fault. The gun is incredibly reliable and consistent. Easy to adjust the nail depth and it has a switch to go from rapid to single fire instead of having to swap out the trigger like on some cheaper nail guns. Even the adjustable air deflector came in handy. I’m very happy I spent the extra money and got this nail gun instead of one of the cheaper ones. Would definitely buy it again.

Love Love Love my Hitachi nailers. I own for of the coil nailers an have had 0, zero, nadda, nill, no problems what so ever. I own a very busy window and door company the sells and installs windows, doors, siding, etc... We use these nailers day in and day out and have never had any issues.

I had hitachi finish nailers and it's been the best one I've had so when it came time for me to get a siding nailer I went with Hitachi. Love how light this nailer is. I haven't had a jam or double feed yet since using it. I like being able to see how full your nails are with the see through case. Adjustments are easily made with a switch.[...]
