As many mentioned it runs a bit larger than some other brands in size medium. I got this for my 6 year old to grow into, so regardless it was always going to be a bitter roomier. I ended up leaving the tags on for now since it looked too baggy on him and I don’t see him wearing it now as I hoped.My son is 46” and about 40-41lbs and normally wears a 5/6 boys and can wear a 7/8 - which is size medium in boys size as well depending on brand.This medium is sized for 10-12 year old boys and think it is accurate target size for the way this look, but not sure if it’s a true medium size for most size charts in boys.

True to size if you look at the size chart for Levi's boys - size S fit my slim and tall 9 year old very well. No scratchy tags, and it does well in the regular cycle with all the other kids clothes. I didn't notice any shrinkage in the dryer either, so I would say its safe to get the size you want them to wear. I like the thermal feel it makes it a nice layer under winter coats and sweaters, but the Henley style is cute enough to wear on its own and it's thick enough to stand alone in the spring and fall.
