You don't need to put pressure, because the marble is heavy enough, and it is easy to handle it.

The rolling pin is not 16” as described, it is 15.5”. It is also a little too slim and the weight is not what I expected for rolling out my dough. I will return; very disappointed.

This Very unique rolling pin has several advantages over a regular rolling pin that maybe isn't so obvious at first until the unique pin is actually used.Ever since I got my African natural white marble rolling pin it's been a pleasure to roll items out now where before it was a challenge because I didn't know the exact details on what's supposed to be so a lot of times it would stick or come off in lumpy pieces or not come off at all.With my new rolling pin, all of these problems were non existent. The new pin was very heavy compared to my old one, with the new one measuring about 12inches in length, yet it was a perfect round shape no matter which side was used first. It was entirely solid as well. No cracks, no fractures, no heavy hair lines. This is very important for its durability and with it also not being porous on any level makes it super resistant to everything specifically bacteria, molds and everything kitchen related as far as diseases and things you can get sick from.Another huge plus is the fact that this large smooth marble stone is colder in temperature naturally. This helps with things not being able to stick to the pin, the pin is way easier to use & rolling out items is much easier.Overall this natural rolling pin seems to be a very unique and one of a kind with many positives & benefits that are rarely seen in general kitchen rolling pins. The stone is naturally found in Africa and it's a natural white marble that's very solid, resistant and durable. This French rolling pin would be a great gift idea to someone that enjoys baking and would enjoy the uniqueness of this natural African marble.I totally recommend this unique French rolling pin!
