So I will be honest, I have not used a set of Kali sticks in many years. I had always used the standard rattan, even for training, oh man, did that hurt when you missed! Lol. I can’t tell you how many times my poor knuckles felt like they were going to shatter into a million pieces. The weight of the sticks themselves are not that different than regular sticks, I would say maybe a little lighter and I guess it feels different because of the fact that these are practice foam style and not the real thing. You do feel them though, if you get smacked, so just gage how hard and where it is safe to practice on with someone. They may be a practice material but can still give you a nice feel for the weight and the rhythm. They are comfortable to use in forms as well. I would suggest putting some grip tape on them if you go for long sessions as perspiration can make them a bit slippery in the grip. You can squeeze these a bit w the foam and they feel comfortable in your hand, but just remember the real thing won’t have that “give” or the same type of bounce off the other sticks that you get working with these. And actually, for the grip, you can even use tennis racket grip tape which is actually what I used on mine years ago. They seem to hold up well to some practice, but bear in mind I’ve only had them a few days and most of my usage has been solo forms next to a couple of sessions with a friend, so I would think these would work well for good practice sessions. I just can’t say how long they would hold up with consistent sessions over a long period of time, and as I am not in any groups to practice this regularly any more, I couldn’t speak to long term longevity.Being able to practice with these is a fantastic thing though and I wish I’d had some back in the day. Would have saved me some bones! 😁

I'm trying to get back into Escrima a little bit, and I used something like this many years ago when I started out. The padding is sufficient, and the feel and action of the sticks is very close to what you would get with rattan, but the padding helps with training, and yes, it still hurts to get hit with these, just not as much as the real thing. I'll use these to get my patterns down and re-awaken my muscle memory before I work with the real thing. I'm teaching my son, and than heavens I have padded sticks to work with here. This is a well made product, and so far have been helpful with my training. I'd recommend getting a practice set if you're looking to learn.

They are a bit lighter than the real thing so the weight and balance feels a little off compared to what I’m used to. They’re a little shorter than them too can see the difference in the picture I added. You could expect those differences with training sticks meant for beginners so it’s not a major drawback, just saying for comparison. With that in mind they feel great for practicing sparring and basic drills. Four solid foam sticks.

These are a great middle option between hard bamboo and soft foam sticks. They have a solid plastic core and dense rubber outer layer that definitely hurts less on the knuckles and body than bamboo, but you'll still end up with welts if you are sparring with a white belt. These keep their shape well, are easy to handle and the bright colors make them easy to track when sparring. The included bag keeps them all together in one nice package. They're very well made and stood up to some pretty serious whacking, so I think these would be great for anyone just starting out with serious training.

These are really good sparring sticks, great for training, I like that they have quite a bit of length to them for not so close combat when trying to strike my opponent, my boyfriend is familiar with martial arts, so he has been showing me the ropes, I like that 4 came together and they have a storage carrying bag with drawstring enclosure, the sparring sticks are lightweight, but durable and are easy to handle, the padding over their PVC like structure/tubing make them cushioned and easy to grip.

The foam-padded sticks are lightweight and feel good in your hand when practicing sinawali drills. They are shorter (23.5") than the rattan sticks I use in class but still work for practice. The build quality is great, and I like that it comes in a four-pack with a case.

Compared to the other foam kali sticks we have at our dojo, these are harder and stiffer. In a sense, that is nice because our other ones bend all over the place during use, especially with stick vs knife defense (I know, not really the intent of these). The foam on this set is not very thick, so if you get whacked with it, it may hurt a little more than other ones. But for incidental impacts while doing actual kali sets, it should be fine.
