First let me say that I love come a longs. They’re an immensely useful tool when you’re working by yourself in the woods, on a homestead or on a farm. This example is fairly compact and light weight. It claims a 2 ton pulling power. It also repeatedly says it has a 12 ft cable, but you must remember that because the cable is doubled up through a block at the hook and because it has several turns left ion the drum, you only have roughly a 5 ft pull. I will also say that it was very stiff to pull out the cable. I’m 6’ 220 lbs and it took an effort with my boot on the hook a gloved hand on the wire while the other hand held down the release to muscle the cable loose. Somewhere in their ad they say something about 3 hooks. This only has two. (Fancier models have a hook system that allows you to quickly swap between a double cable pull and single which is where a 3rd hook enters the design, this cable is fixed for only double cable pulls). I also hate when the come a long has the press on plastic handle over the steel pull lever. You can bet that thing will come off in your hands at the worst moment when you’re up to your knees in snow or mud.All that said, if you don’t own one, this $36 tool could pull you out of many a jamb. I would probably point people towards the next model up with a better handle design, larger pulling capacity etc, but if you don’t want to lug a bigger one around this does do it’s job.
