Very durable but would hurt if you take a proper hit from it.I can't imagine a grown man would be able to train for real without breaking it hitting somebody/thing. But kids could.If kids I'd recommend using helmets or no headshots rule lol.

This is a high quality product and my 6 year old son loves it. He currently only a green belt but has been using any stick like object as if it were a Bo Staff since seeing a Bo Staff form demonstration, we are glad he now has something he won't get hurt with.

This is an amazing and high quality product. Though the design did rub off the center, it made no difference in functionality and little change to the look of the staff.

The product itself seems to be good quality. It's weighted nicely and the foam covers the ends a little bit. When it arrived there was a tear in the package and a large piece taken out of the foam. The PVC underneath was even gouged. Either shipping was really rough, or the foam may not be as durable. I will be returning the item, but thought I'd include pictures in case anyone wants to see that the foam is as thick as the descriptions says it is.
