I have an old Italian Silca tire pump that had a small handle. The original plastic handle has a metric-threaded insert which I could not remove. I figured I could cut a broom handle into the length I needed and drill a hole into the handle for an insert but could not find the insert at my local hardware store. This insert worked perfectly and am pleased with the results.
