This is the only brand of these silica I buy on Amazon now, Dry&Dry. I've ordered many different types from the orange to green (the latest) to the bright blue to just the white packs. I personally use these for ammo storage in sealed 50 or "Fat 50" Cal ammo cans, so I don't have to worry about food storage versions (do not use blue or orange for food, just the white ones). They work very well and it's always easy to see if they are used (absorbed max moisture). You will quickly realize that some ammo cans have better seals than others and it has more to do with where the metal can rim contacts the black rubber gasket, than what type of can it is. I prefer the 100% blue or orange packets for my purposes. Those both work the same so I just buy whichever is cheapest. They always come new, well sealed and ready for use. The colored ones are easy to recharge in the microwave, but most of the time I just buy new ones every couple years and throw the old ones away. I highly recommend these for long term, small sealed container storage.

These really help keep stuff dry and you can reuse them. They turn a dark green, not as pretty green as the images show. You can recharge in oven or microwave on defrost, but I have a very low power microwave and only a couple minutes on defrost makes these scary hot, so I finish them in my dehydrator. Some of the packets have slightly deformed from the heat of recharging, but they do dry back out. Sometimes there are a few beads which stay green permanently. I use these even for keeping sticky garlic bagels in bags from going moldy, and have used them in my shoes after being rain soaked. After recharge they seem to retain no smell at all from whatever you use them in, though I do give them a quick clean if I used them in my shoes or any food that happened to still get mold.

I've been using them mostly for use in ammo cans. They seem to work great. The first few turned colors after a week, changed them with a similar result, until it completely dried out. Now I can wait a few months and they still remain the original color, so it must be very dry. They will suck moisture through plastic bags, so I use metal ammo cans from harbor freight that seal very well.When saturated I put them in the microwave on defrost for about 5 minutes on a plate, then on a lower level of defrost for another 5. They seem to melt the plastic bags on the normal power level for too long on my microwave.After so many uses it seems the blue ones turn clear instead of pink, although they still dry out almost completely blue. Recently I had two of the orange 10 gram packs turn red. I have no idea why, it took me by surprise. They wouldn't turn back to orange in the microwave so I had to throw them away. They were used in the same way all the others are.

I like keeping a box of these packets around, because you never know what you will need them for. Last month, my wife inadvertently sent our DirectTV remote (about $30 if you have to buy a new one) thru the washing machine. Needless to say, when it came out, it didn't work. I took the batteries out, left the cover off, and put it in a plastic ziplock bag with a couple of these packets in with it. Two days later, the moisture was gone and the remote worked fine. Great product! and a great price. Kudos.

I use these desiccants to keep my Chinese/Oriental/Hot/brown mustard powder, which contains cancer-preventing isothiocyanates (glucosinolates plus myrosinase), as fresh as possible inside of my screw-on tins. The color of these silica gel beads slowly changes from yellow to a delicious-looking, semi-bright, seaweed green. Their instructions say that even after the silica gel beads turn green, about 40% of their moisture-sucking power still remains. I've read in the comments by other customers, however, that colored silica gel products don't suck the moisture out of the air inside of sealed containers anywhere near as fast as the regular, paper-encased silica gel products.

Ich habe mir diese Silica Gel Päckchen für die Trockenhaltung von 3D Drucker Filament in einer Plastikbox zugelegt (durch öffnen und schließen der Box kommt immer wieder Luftfeuchtigkeit hinein) und bin äußerst zufrieden. Durch die Verfärbung ist sofort ersichtlich, wann die Päckchen getauscht gehören. Ich habe die gesättigten Päckchen nun schon einige Male bei der empfohlenen Temperatur im Backofen (Umluft) getrocknet und es hat alles wunderbar funktioniert. Bin vollends zufrieden.

La verdad llevo pocos días con el producto. Viene bien empaquetado y sellado. Lo estoy usando en equipos de fotografía y aun no han cambiado de color. Por ser de 10 gramos cada paquete tienen buena capacidad de absorción. Usé cuatro por cada cámara fotográfica y creo que van bien. Considero que es un buen producto.

Ottimo prodotto per preservare dall' umiditá qualsiasi oggetto. Comodissimo il cambio di colore che indica quando ricaricare. Non so ancora per quanti cicli di ricarica é utilizzabile, ma l' articolo funziona a dovere.

I mostly use it to keep 3D Printer Filaments dry. Colour changing desiccant is great for reuse as you know when it's fully dry. I toss it into the filament drier whenever I dry filament to refresh the packets.
