The short review is: I've been using this since the latter half of 2022, and am never going back to using mattresses again.I used to use a mattress like most people. Unlike most people, ever since my 30s I'd sometimes, and later quite often, wake up in the middle of the night and mornings with a "paralysed" feeling in my neck, lying on my back. I'd have to use my hands to rotate my head sideways and then would turn the rest of me sideways, so that the feeling would subside and I could use my head again. On some days, I'd wake up with a terrible pain in neck and/or shoulders and felt something somewhere had got stuck into a "wrong" position. I'd be unable to move my head using my neck, and would have to turn using my whole body instead, to see in other directions. An added hassle driving to work when checking for cars, and pain in my shoulder merely turning the wheel. This feeling that some muscle or something got into a knot or stuck in the wrong position somewhere inside would last for the whole day if I was lucky or for weeks if I was not, easily made far worse when I made movements which I hoped would get it "unstuck". Sometimes spending half an hour lying on the hard floor on my back, with my legs pulled out and arms stretched out or against me would manage to get things unstuck at last (some pain would linger) but it didn't always work.Things would eventually return to normal when I shifted from my bed with its mattress in my bedroom, to sleeping on the floor for days on end until the pain went away. In the back of my mind, I'd think I just needed to sleep on the floor and not on a mattress, but in half awake state I'm always paranoid about any creepy crawlies that could perhaps drop by to visit me on the ground if I were to sleep, so I'd go back to my bed eventually. The cycle of horrible pain would repeat. I got a new sturdy mattress, hoping it would mimic the floor. The pain from getting into a stuck position was initially less or less often, but it would always strike again. Then I just consciously envisioned what I wanted: my metal bed has inbuilt metal latches. It should be able to support some hard metal plate or board of some kind. Then I could treat it like the floor, and I'd be happy. If I could just find something like that. It wasn't easy to locate anything. Where I was born, my grandmother had a light, fully metal bed that she'd put her thin mattress on. But my searches for something similar never turned up. Also, it felt wasteful of my existing metal bed which was almost there.I thought to search for things like bed boards, which eventually led me here. This is simply made but very to the purpose and works. While my cushion is still not quite right, so that if I roll onto my back and sleep in that position for too long, my neck can hurt until I turn back to my side, when things go back to normal, I don't wake up with lasting pain any more. This was the cheap and easy answer for me. I want to thank the makers for making just what I needed. Now I need to find a cushion right for me that doesn't require me to mould it to fit me first (I seem to never get that right), so I can sleep on my back too.Although, per a StonyBrook study, sleeping on the back, thereby sleeping on the back of the head, is associated with Alzheimers (see "Could Body Posture During Sleep Affect How Your Brain Clears Waste?" article 2015 and "Head Position During Sleep: Potential Implications for Patients with Neurodegenerative Disease", Levendowski et al 2019), so perhaps I should take my neck hurting when I sleep too long on my back as a regular reminder to switch back to my side. (It's also bad to sleep on your stomach.) Sleeping on your side clears out brain waste and prevents neurological diseases. This was an aside, the point is that this lovely bed board has made my life normal again by making my sleep restful and something to look forward to, instead of a potential and regular cause of days of pain.If my experience sounds familiar to you and nothing you've tried works, I found that this foldable, simple but hard base in place of a mattress solved my problems. You will need to layer as it is harder than the carpeted ground.I can't thank DMI enough for making what I needed, and so affordable to. Yes it's basic, but that's all that was needed.

I bought this bunkie board to act as a box spring replacement for my son's twin bed. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. The slats on my son's bed were too far apart and this bunkie bed just collapsed in on itself when we tried to use it. This product is literally a few pieces of plywood that's held together with cloth straps. I really regretted buying it because a piece of plywood would have been about the same price and would have actually worked so I tried to return it but returns were not offered through Amazon. I called the product company and I was greeted by a robot telling me very quickly that the only customer service they offered was through email but the recording was so quick I barely got time to register I was supposed to email instead of call. Luckily, Amazon was very understanding and refunded my purchase. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone and wrote this in hopes of saving someone else time, money, and stress. It was too much of a hassle for a product that is literally supposed to make life easier and is just plywood.

Used to support a frame so I do not feel the cross bars on a bed. Perfect and easy to use, adjust (if needed). I had purchased before a bougie board that was a cloth covered wooden frane. It was more expensive but over time it sagged, only to find internally it was stretched cardboard soaked to the wood frame. Not good at all. This is thicker pressed cardboard but solid all the way across, and less expensive, and folds. A better choice by far! My second one purchased!

Soo, my bed is currently on cinderblocks for height. putting this under my bed def gave it more stability and made it comfier. I'm a little bit on the heavier side, so its pretty durable. For being cheaply made though, id say it should probably be cheaper than $30-40.

This thing is a pain in the neck. I’m single and I had the hardest time getting this under my Casper mattress by myself. It’s made of some cheap splinter board and it’s not very durable, although now that it’s under the mattress it hasn’t broke or anything. It has provided extra support, so that is a positive. I was worried about how far apart the slats were on my bed frame, that’s why I purchased it. Technically it’s doing its job.It does however move and shift on the slats of the bed frame. Once it moves or shifts out of position, I find it incredibly hard to get it back to the position I want it to be in. I only have a full size bed and one of these only goes under a portion of it. If I had to choose again I would look for something else. This might be ideal for someone else though, especially if there’s more weight on the bed so it doesn’t shift.

Just what I needed for my new mattress. The distance between the slats were more than the 2 1/2 distance needed or less so I purchased this. Works great

This solves the problem with my platform frame. The frame has open metal grid and my innerspring mattress does not set evenly without something like this for solid support.I am glad I bought it and will purchase another one to go on top for more support.

The size of it. I bought two twin size bunkie boards. They did not fit the regular twin beds. I can see if it was Twin XL , but I specifically bought Twin size. The width and length of this “TWIN SIZE” is so very small. I am returning both “TWIN SIZE” bunkie boards. When buying maybe measure the size and length and compare to what is being advertised.

SO disappointed with this purchase so it was immediately returned. It was light, flimsy and totally unsuitable for the job required - besides being very expensive. I wouldn't give it any star rating if I could. A piece of thick ply board the size of the mattress has done a perfect job at less than half the price!!!

This under board is a steady yet firm wood, that allows you to sleep comfortably and it doesn't move out of the place you put it. If you roll or sleep bad like I do lol you would see that it is ready a valuable buy.

Since 2020, I've been sleeping on a memory foam mattress that was on top of my old mattress as my old mattress box spring was damaged and I didn't buy a new one with my new mattress to save money. This was a bad idea. Sure, it's soft, but there's a lack of support. After a few weeks, the bottom mattress dents and hurts my back, so I occasionally have to flip the bottom mattress and rotate my top one. After nearly 5 years of that, I can't take that anymore and bout these support slats. They're kinda small, but they fit enough for the most part. After I put them between my mattresses and rotated the top one, I slept great. No longer do I have to worry about back pain and finding a good position on my bed. These slats did exactly what I had hoped. If I had a complaint other than it being just a bit small, I'd go with the price. I paid over $56 for this, and with taxes, it was $60. I spent 60 dollars on planks of wood. But this did exactly what I hoped for and quite frankly, it was worth the price. If you have the same issue I had with my bed, go ahead and get one of these. Just make sure you have the measurements correct.
