This is pretty well made and launders well. However the size runs large and is pretty long. I am 5' 3".

I wanted to like this house dress, because I love the pretty print and color of it. I am 37 years old, and I thought this dress looked cozy and cute on the model, but when I got it and put it on, I suddenly felt and looked like my mother. Not a great moment (even though my mother is a beautiful older lady, I did not enjoy feeling 30 years older than I am). This dress does not look cute and spunky when I wear it. Instead it looks frumpy and baggy on me, even though I got it true to my size. I think the heaviness of the fabric contributes to the frumpy look (it is a heavier soft material that makes the gown pull downward a lot when you're wearing it), and also the design just reads "older" lady due to the longer shoulder sleeves. I still gave the dress 4 stars because it is well made, has a pretty print, and is durable and strong, but it lost a star for making me feel frumpy and older than I am.

I needed a new night gown, that would flow just above my ankles as I was planning a short visit north where it was cool. This gown was perfect for tucking my toes around the hem. It is warm and comfortable, with capped sleeves and a vee-neck. This gown does come in many colors: I chose navy blue. The material is almost like flannel but not that heavy. It has gone thru the washer and drier many times and does not show wear. Yes, it is designed for a person who enjoys lounging in the evening or morning. I would enjoy another color.

So the fabric is soft and kind of like a sporty type of texture. It comes a little big, so it is bigger on my frame even 8 months pregnant. The appearance is cute, and I think it’s definitely something that would last me a few years, but like I said it’s just so big.

Other reviewers have said they found the fabric of this house dress to be on the heavy side. I live in Texas and have not found that to be the case. It's very cool. The pattern is very pretty. However, this does have the look and feel of a mumu, not a house dress. It's described by the manufacturer as sort of both, but I kind of feel like I'm wearing a curtain. I do not mean to be overly critical, because I have worn it a lot around the house, and it ticks all of my boxes of being versatile enough to wear with great modesty around houseguests and grandchildren. The house dress is a tad bit larger than I expected and more on the mumu side of life, which is to say a bit shapeless. However, a friend who is a size extra-large and not a small like me says that is exactly the point!

This is a lovely gown however, it is very heavy and long. Falls mid calf on me and I'm 5’4”Maybe ok for late fall or even winter. So don't be confused by the summery colors.
