Ipe Oil Plus can deliver up to 15% longer-lasting results! It has all of the same features and qualities of the original Ipe Oil and is a complementary option for anyone needing a little more protection from harsh weather and U.V. damage. Ipe Oil Plus is an oil-based hardwood stain exclusively formulated to dry properly on exotic hardwoods such as Ipe, Tigerwood, Mahogany, Cumaru and also many other oily exotic and North American hardwoods that trigger finish drying trouble for other brand names. Ipe Oil Plus Hardwood Deck Finish features a special formulation for exotic hardwood decking and hardwood siding to ensure exceptional protection with very little rising of the wood grain. It stabilizes and nourishes hardwoods from within. Home-owners and Pro contractors appreciate the elegance of well-maintained hardwood deck or the sleek surface of hardwood rainscreen siding. Ipe Oil Plus Hardwood Deck Finish may be used only on exterior hardwoods to enhance the wood’s natural beauty. Ipe Oil Plus is easy-to-use with three simple steps: 1. Clean and Brighten the deck surface and let dry 2. Apply Ipe Oil Plus Hardwood deck finish 3. Wipe any excess Ipe Oil.

Used this after the cleanser and our Camaru deck looks wonderful. The color is restored. Tip. Use more cleaner than you think you need and for longer.

The dock is located in East Tennessee and exposed to lots of strong sun and rain. The beautiful stain color will stay for 3-5 months in the most sun exposed locations. Then the wood transitions to gray. The oil is easy to apply, I tend to use a brush to help get between the boards better. The stain goes about the 200-300 square foot per can, in heavily weathered areas.I also wear a respirator. The VOCs are strong and prefer to not breath them in. Try to avoid getting it on your hand too (I wear long rubber gloves). The oil is very difficult to get off your skin and will retain a smell for a day or two. Best to just not get it on you.

Here’s the skinny. 5 year old Cumaru wood table. Located in south Florida, exposed to hellish sun and ball soaking humidity all year. Did I mention biblical daily downpours when were not in an Africa like dry season? So you get the picture. Florida id tough on outdoor furniture of any kind.Step 1, sanded the table with 80 grain paper to remove the top oxidized layer of wood. When complete sanded it all again with 120 grain to keep it smooth.Step 2. Applied Ipe oil with a paint brush. Applied liberally, slathered it on.Step 3 let it sit for 20 minutes and soak in, then take a rag and wipe off the excess.Lastly, reapplied an hour later, let it soak in again and wiped excess. Please with how it looks. Curious to see how long the waterproof properties last.

The coverage of the plus product is not as good as the old version. I ran short and luckily still had leftover old product. You can see the old product brings out the red in the wood and has better coverage. Yes, the smell of the old stuff is harsher than the new low VOC product. Next year, I’ll look for the old product over the new. In the picture, the top portion is the old and the bottom is the new product, both applied on the same day.

Very expensive and I liked the look of the helmsman's spar urethane better.

Great product for EPI wood. Easy to apply but keep stiring frequently to keep the oil & pigment consistently mixed.

When it stops stinking there is nothing left. No way am I applying this 3-4 times a year even if it didn't stink.
