This is a lovely paperweight, but it has a couple of quirks I wasn't expecting.Every fingerprint shows up on it. While I got this to use as a paperweight, I find myself wiping it clean after every time I touch it. I blame myself for that one. It's glass. It's obviously going to get fingerprints. On the other hand, I don't particularly mind wiping off the fingerprints and it wouldn't have influenced my decision to order this. If you're keeping this on the included display stand, you shouldn't have trouble with fingerprints.Second, there seems to be a printed plastic sheet on the back with the image and the plastic is translucent. You can see what that means in the main product photo where the shadow of the stand behind the paperweight is visible through the glass. I've taken a photo where the paperweight is half off the pile of paper. It makes for a rather interesting effect when you can get an idea of what graphics might be on the paper by looking through the paperweight. I don't even know if this is good or bad. If you want an opaque paperweight or don't want the image messed up by what you can see through the glass, it would be bad. I tend to be in the good camp, though. If this is lying on a light-colored surface, the light is reflected back up through the glass and that makes the picture a lot brighter and more vibrant. If it's on a dark surface, the picture seems pretty dull. I have it in a room with poor lighting and placing it on top of the white papers on my desk makes the image really stand out. If it weren't translucent, I would be stuck.Because the image is below a thick glass slab, there are some very interesting visual effects. I've taken a photo of the paperweight at an angle. You get two different views of the image depending on whether you're looking through the front face or the side. When you're looking at the top face, the refracted light also gives the image a strange sense of depth.Overall, I really enjoy this paperweight. I love the weight of it and the refraction of light in it and the manufacturer's (Udyzax's) version of the Great Wave painting that is depicted on it. For me, it is definitely a 5-star item.

Up close it's clear that the image is just glued to the opposite side of a clear disc, but honestly as something just sits on the shelf, it looks quite nice. Twenty dollars is a bit steep for what it is, I think. But I'm not displeased with it.

Out of the many reviews I have done I have to place this piece at the top of my personal "I really like" list! It gives me Hawaiian-anime' vibes and that's a combo the makes me want to eat ramen and pineapple pizza together! The paperweight is very beautiful and enjoyable to look at. It comes with a small wooden stand and a set of rubber grips to keep it from moving in the cradle. It comes ready to gift in a padded black box filled with strips of paper, so if your looking for an easy, yet pleasing gift this is the one to put your highest considerations into.I feel this paperweight will liven up the room in a pleasant way and make the reciever happy.I will admit that the glass feels a bit almost like resin, but I don't feel that's an issue. It's definitely got a bit of weight to it, but not too much.Such a beautiful piece!

This is absolutely gorgeous! It's weighty and it is exactly like the painting. I'm using it on the stand that it came with and it's on one of my bookshelves. It displays beautifully. One thing I would change is the stand. It folds open all the way so it's difficult to get it to the right opening to place the paperweight. They added rubber stoppers on either side of the stand so that the paper weight will stay nicely on it.This has always been one of my favorite paintings and this is a nice way to have it as I don't have enough wall space for another painting. It's a great way to have a great work of art in a small space.

This paper weight office decor is so cool. We recently visit the Hokusai exit at our local museum and when I saw this paper weight I had to have it. It definitely reminds me of the great wave. It's not quite a replica but it's definitely a cool slight spin on it. The paper weight has impressive intricate detailing to it. The colors are bold and rich and really pop. Although this can be used as a paper weight I ended up place it on our fire place mantle as decor and I'm very happy with it. As a paper weight it has good weight to it. It would also look great as desk of office decor especially because it doesn't take up much space. The stand is pretty cool because it enables it to be more than a paper weight if wanted. This is such a cool little unique decor piece. I'm very happy with the quality and design of this piece and would absolutely recommend it either as a paper weight or a little home decor/office decor piece.

I have a small paperweight collection and an admiration of “The Great Wave.”I am pleased with the quality of the wave paperweight. I immediately set it up in a display of “watery” items, where I think it fits well. Eventually it will likely be moved to live with other paperweights. The glass is heavy and clear, with artwork that is also quality work.I will not continue using the included stand when I consolidate it with other weights. I have them on clear stands and want to keep things in that design for my display. The stand that came with it is similar to some I use with rocks and minerals. So it will be used, too. You can see from the picture that it works well with the paperweight, too.
