Too many ice scrapers are plastic edged, and while that's great for the glass, a plastic edge will NOT scrape ice or even heavy frost more than a couple times, before you get nicks and dents and the edge is dulled. You can watch all the videos of the amazing plastic ice destroyer, but you can bet every single one of them is shot with the car defroster running full blast for 10 minutes prior to the demonstration.I wanted an ice scraper that would tackle ice right off the windshield, not after fifteen minutes of prep work by a heater, and this one does! years ago, I made my own with a brass blade, but lost it after moving to Arizona for 15 years, and never needing it. This one is a perfect replacement. I can go out, start my truck, and IMMEDIATELY begin to tackle the scraping of the windows. I don't need to let the defroster work for 10 minutes, I can start scraping, and be done in under three. Heavy Frost? Cuts it right off. Ice? Honest, actual ice storm ice coating? Cuts right into it, and is strong enough to break it apart, and slide it off.Works well, fits perfectly in my hand, I highly recommend this over any "miracle" remover. Just keep the angle low (under 45 degrees), and don't use it to chip or pound like a hammer... it is metal edged, and if you press it directly into your window glass, it will scratch it.

These are small scrapers but work well. You will definitely need gloves if you get cold hands. Will fit in nearly any cubby hole you have in the car.

This scraper is nice and compact. However, the brass blade does not scrape as well as a more fantastic brand. This is because the blade is dull. All I did was run the edge of the brass blade *perpendicular* to the surface of a large, fine file several times until I had a sharp edge on both edges of the blade. Some ~120 grit sandpaper on a flat hard surface may work as well. (As the end of the blade rounds off with use, the scraper can be rejuvenated by repeating this process.)

I have a weird car. I often get condensation on the *inside* of my windshield. In the winter this can freeze. Using a regular ( long handled ) ice scraper inside doesn't work.This is just what I need. It has a solid metal scraper, and a rubber scraper. One edge is ridged like many full sized scrapers. And even has a feature to remove ice from windshield wiper blades.
