The Amazon driver left the box next to the mail box while I was at work and it was raining all day instead of walking the 15-20 feet up to the porch where it would have been out of the rain. Luckily the carrying case the nailer is in is shrink wrapped in plastic, so great on Bostitch. There doesn’t seem to be way to let Amazon know about something like this so I’m writing in the review. 5 stars for the product 0 for the delivery driver who was lazy and didn’t want to get wet.

Installing new Oak tread on my stairs, and this made the job a hell-of-a lot easier. The belt clip is so wonderful to have, as I have a smaller brad nailer without one and it makes it difficult to maneuver/juggle. The storage case is so nice, and fits a small pack of nails. VERY EASY to use, and loading nails could NOT be easier. I love that it comes with different tips, which are attached to the gun, so if needing to swap out, no need digging into the case, you can do it on the fly at a job site. The kickback is strong at 90psi, the nailer jumped and slightly indented the wood when nailing, however i was putting my weight into it. Now i just barely put pressure to d-activate the safety, so when the nailer kicks back I don't cause an indentation in the wood/surface.

I'm not really understanding the logic as to why this is better. It is just as easy to figure out where the nail will go as does one with a larger shoe. I like this gun because it makes a slightly smaller hole than my cheap harbor freight nailer and doesn't require oil. I kept it although disappointed because I'm certain either gun will fail and I'll be stuck in the middle of a job.The no mar tip is anything but that. It leaves dents more than a normal gun unless you literally apply zero pressure. Which for anyone doing paneling knows you have to apply force which requires two hands to avoid a mar.

Don't get me wrong. DeWalt tools are my first choice, but NOT when it comes to a nail gun! I just threw my new DeWalt battery powered nail gun in the trash, really I did, and replaced it with this nail gun. What a big improvement! Before that, I bought a Bostich brad gun and it was equally impressive.

I got this on sale and I think the value here is excellent. I enjoy the no-mar tip on this which helps reduce additional damage to whatever your working on. Super easy to set up.

Has no problems driving 2” nails half way to China. Had take the air pressure down to 50 psi and adjust the depth control to minimum to get them flush so definitely plenty of power. Didn’t have any jams though only drove about 50 nails so far. Only complaint is that it is a fairly larger than my 18 gauge nail gun, loading is sort of a pain compared to the older guns but not the worst thing. The stupid pencil sharpener belt hook combo thing should be replaced with a decent sturdy hook, I mean I don’t think I would trust climbing up a ladder with it hooked on a belt.

I bought both 16&18 ga bostitch smartpoint nailer. Really love how precise they are.I only use occasionnaly, as a DIY-er, but they are fine nailer. I had a 2in1 18ga paslode before, worked good but hated the hammer mark it left in the base board or other molding.Keep an eye out since dewalt also sell the similar nailer, but could be cheaper.I bought on sale for 109 the 18ga. And 199 the 16ga.

I have only used it for one project so far but it has worked very well. The new tip made it very easy to place the nails and not having to push it down hard also makes overall use easy. This is my third Bostitch tool and I have been very happy with all three of them.

Overall a nice nailer however I’m disappointed that I didn’t receive the extra No-Mar tips as listed in the product description.

he instructions were less than adequate with regards to loading the nailer. After several attempts by several people, we resorted to going to the Home Depot store. Then after a few of the staff tried to load it, one of the fellows from the rental department advised the correct way to load the nailer. With better instructions, it would get 5 stars! It works great!

I’m not a pro user but an experienced diy homeowner doing a major trim upgrade. The smart point nailer is a big upgrade from the cheap generic 3 in 1 nailer I had been using. It is smaller, lighter and much easier to use. I’m installing 3/4 and 1” thick mdf trim and it has no trouble with 2-1/2 inch brads. The smart point system takes a bit to get used to but allows you to see exactly where the brad is going. No misfires or jams so far after a few hundred brads. Very light weight for it’s size and I am totally satisfied with it’s performance.
