I guess it's rated for climbing, and being Black Diamond I wouldn't hesitate to use it for that, but for me it's perfect for clipping gear to my backpack etc. Well made and finished, and doesn't break the bank.

About 10 years ago my brother handed the keys to the family truck before he went to basic training. Those keys were attached to a black diamond carabiner. I have used and abused that carabiner daily for many years. Finally the clasp started to give out and I had to order a replacement. You don’t often think something as small as this will last as long as it does but these carabiners are the real deal. I expect this replacement will last another 10 years.

I attached this carabiner to my backpack on an overnight backpacking trip. I used it in several different applications and it worked well. It seems to be well constructed and is relatively lightweight

Beautifully made and of the best quality. I didn't climb but I use these for camping and outdoors use. The fit and finish is perfect, no doubt the highest quality. Very smooth and strong and extremely light.
