I was glad to find this large mat that fits my long, narrow tub, and I love the exfoliating texture and the dark gray color. I feel much more secure with this mat than most other mats I have tried. However, after using it for a few weeks and just cleaning it with the shower spray, I thought it could use a spin in the washing machine. So, I washed it with two large towels, and it came out great, EXCEPT -- the backing came completely off in the wash! The two separate parts were not damaged, and I think I can still use the two pieces together in the tub (or maybe just the gray part), but I hadn't expected that to happen. The product description says it is machine washable. I don't know if it had to do with water temperature, but I use hot water in the shower all the time and never had any problem with separation so far. More likely it was the type of wash cycle I used - probably should have used a more gentle cycle. And I only used a small amount of detergent, which I have used before to clean it IN the tub. So, I think maybe it was the agitation that caused it to separate. It does look like the two parts might stick back together again, or if not, I can probably just use the gray part by itself. I really do like this mat a LOT, and I don't think I have done irreparable damage to it, but if I have to replace it, at least it won't cost an arm and a leg.

My 74-year-old mother really loves this. She has a fear of slipping when she's taking a shower so I bought her this to put into the tub and she sat her shower tub chair on it and she just loves it she loves the fact that she can scrub the bottom of her feet while she's seated and that it doesn't slip at all. It is very easy to clean all you need to do is spray it down with bleach every once in awhile and rinse. It is also great to catch hair to keep it from going down your drain. Once every other week just take it out of the tub and you'll see how much hair it keeps from going down into your drain.

Covers most of the tubs bottom. Great hold no slipping but still easy to lift up and clean. The lufa surface is extremely comfortable under foot.

I bought this after a visit to my mom’s, she had one. It was comfortable, and not slippery. It doesn’t feel weird like other bath mats. I gave my dogs a bath, and for the first time, they didn’t act like it was the end of the world. They even sat down in the water and didn’t fight to get out the entire time. I have three Australian Shepherds that love a creek and hate the tub, but after this, I think the texture of it felt more natural and they didn’t slide around, making them so nervous.Oh, and big bonus… after the dogs get baths, they have so much hair that comes out, you can take it outside, and turn it over and spray with a hose, very little clean up and because I put it over the drain and it catches all the hair. I can say, “let’s take a bath, and they go and wait. There’s no more chasing them around the house”. I’m 100% convinced it’s the mat, and I have recommended it to others with good results with their pets. I’ve also recommended to non pet owners. I got the large size and it covers the complete bottom of the tub that is pictured. Sorry I don’t have the actual picture; any time I go to take a pic I’m bombarded by dogs wanting baths.

It's a great nonslip shower mat and feels great on my feet....HOWEVER. I have a family with long hair who all shed a lot. So it catches the hair and it is a huge pain in the arse to clean and get all of the hair unstuck from the texture of the mat

Looks great and perfect size for the bathtub and covers up the imperfections in my old tub for guests.I am buying again because after many guests later there are some moldy spots I can’t remove and the non-slip layer is coming off. It got lots of use in one year however so re-purchasing.
