This is the kind of critical item that can be hard to find in a big box store or in a chain hardware store. Luckily, this comes in a size that is standard across a number of brands. Our pressure cooker is from Basic Essentials, and when the original plug fell out, or was pushed out for cleaning, it was carefully put aside for reinstallation, but then some well-meaning soul threw it away. You can't safely create pressure for cooking without an overpressure plug, so without one, your cooker is useless for its intended purpose. I took a chance that it would fit, and it fits perfectly, and now we're back in business with our pressure cooker.

Perfect fit and seal for my presto pressure cooker! I was super sad when I went to cook a roast and the plug was missing from my life. Either the kids threw it away or the dishwasher ate it. Either way I had to use my new instapot instead and it does not deliver like my Presto does! So glad I was able to buy an inexpensive replacement and get it delivered quickly. It's back to the Presto for me and I'm boxing back up the Instapot.

Sucks that original one got eaten by dishwasher or who knows. Presto presure cooker was useless without it. Glad I could get a new one.

Look, let's be fair. This piece of hard rubber is about the size of a dime. It's not worth the money that I had to pay for it except, I couldn't find it anywhere else. That makes all the difference. If I didn't get it from Amazon, I would have been without the use of the canner for who knows how long. So, that made it worth the money, I guess.
