When I received the bowl I thought it was really nice. It was heavy and perfect for the Punchbowl cake I was making for my family’s Thanksgiving dinner. After I made the cake and was placing it in the refrigerator a piece of glass badly cut my finger causing my finger to bleed. Initially, I had no clue where the glass came from and just figured it was from something else. But when I took it back out, a piece of the cake fell out of the bottom. The glass on the bottom of the bowl was cracked and had a hole in it. Unfortunately, while the glass in other areas of this bowl are thick, the area in the middle is extremely thin. Almost paper thin. The very last picture was taken after we had taken the cake out of the bowl. You can see the difference in how thick the rest of the bowl is in comparison to the pieces that were cracked in the middle. This bowl may be okay for light desserts or salads, but I don’t recommend this trifle bowl if you are using it for desserts that have weight to them such as cakes because if you pick them up especially in the bottom middle section it may cave in and ruin your dessert just as it did mine. Luckily we were able to save the top portion of my cake but it did make for a messy clean up of my finger and the cake.

This is a quality bowl especially for the price. It is a beautiful centerpiece for special desserts. It is the perfect size and so easy to clean up. The cover is a bonus!

First impression is that I can see this breaking if not properly stored. I wish there was a silicone bottom so this bowl does not slide around. Lid stays pretty snug and keeps salad pretty fresh. Great bowl to use for trifles. It’s really HUGE, so keep that in mind. Upon unboxing this I did notice some glass shards in the bowl however the bowl was perfectly intact. Not sure where it came from. I honestly would spend the extra money and get a name brand trifle bowl with the silicone base.

This bowl is as described and I like the size, good for a trifle, smallish salad or side dish for a potluck. My only complaint is that the glass does seem a bit thin. While I don't have any cracks, chips or issues, it does seem a bit flimsy and at risk of breaking at some point. I will continue to use caution as I use, store and transport it. Mine did arrive well-packaged to prevent issues in transport!

You don't see this style of bowl very often, but it's so practical for storage purposes. For the amount of space it takes up on a table, it can hold almost twice as much as the traditional curved bowl, so it's fantastic for big gatherings. I made a large salad in it for the holidays, and it was enough to serve 14 as a side dish!The lid fits on snuggly, and I'm fairly confident in the air-tight integrity. The fact that there's a valve in it is a great sign that it was designed to have a truly tight seal. The little dial on the valve, to indicate which day you put it in the fridge, is a double-win for this disorganized mom.I've actually flipped the bowl over as a cloche over a marble cheeseboard a few times, and it was really useful that way, too. Overall, this is a very nice quality item that I'll probably buy again when I invariably drop it (glass bowls only have a short lifespan with me).
