Item came and works as described. So far, I have no issues when connected to my Android phone. No lag with calls, Google maps or music apps which I use mostly in my car. Two thumbs up.

First off, in reading some of the reviews it looks like some are for a type of memory card reader or hub. My review is for the "2 in 1 Mini Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Wireless Adapter"I've had this for a day now and used it 3 separate times and so far it works well. It took about 1 minute to set up, just plugged it in and searched for it in my bluetooth on my phone. For bluetooth it showed up as "smartBox-F293" I paired it and the normal CarPlay screen popped up on my radio. It functions the same as if I had the wired cord plugged in.I shut the car off, did some stuff in the house and then went for another drive about 30 minutes later. On startup a message to re-pair appeared for about 2 seconds but then went away and went directly to the CarPlay screen again without me doing anything. It picked up right where I left off on a podcast and everything worked as normal. I repeated this again with the same results. Not that it matters but I'm using this on a 2023 Toyota 4Runner that has a standard USB plug to connect to my phone. I did NOT use the USB-c adapter and I'm glad I didn't, I think it would just stick out too far and be too likely to get hit and broke. You can make your own call on this, for standard USB connections I think it should be no problem.

Convenient option to reduce the clutter of wires. I don't use my CarPlay very often, it's only for longer trips. But this gadget is good to have available.

Review of 8-in-1 Multi Memory Card Reader Adapter - USB3.0 SD Card Reader. This a relatively small in size memory card/storage reader, just 100mm x 60mm x 15mm thick it is very lightweight with a 350mm cable and USB “A” 3.0 connector. The connection a USB 3.1 Gen 1 which transfers data at 5Gbps, this shared by all ports to read and write, not sure how one writes to all 8 ports at the same time but that the advertising claim, the main advantage of the reader is it has Compact flash, Olympus XD and Sony memory stick ports besides the normal SD/Micro and USB ports so very handy for photographers.Another advantage is it will power external hard drives plugged into any of the three usb ports via the USB 3.1 port of a PC, obviously the total power limited to that supplied by the PC port. This is an 8 in 1 multi port reader/writer that works very well for data transfer, it is not slow at 5Gbps but by today’s standards of 10Gbps and 20Gbps it is a little dated, this is actually just a connection device between PC and the different formats of data storage, it can only transfer data and power at the speed of the PC operating device through a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port and is not capable of uprating speed of transfer. It is however a very handy device with it’s multiple 6 in 1 formats, lightweight and small, easy to transport and transfer data from one storage device to another especially camera cards with large data content such as RAW format photographs to larger capacity external storage drives.

I got this after recently discovering some old Sony memory sticks tucked away at the back of the bits and bobs drawer. I had no idea what was on them and also no way of finding out, as the camera that used to use them had long since gone. I ordered this card reader as it handles just about everything, so if I stumble on some old compact flash cards I'll be able stick those in too.The unit is very small and it doesn't look particularly strong. It's made of the sort of brittle plastic that doesn't like being knocked or having things dropped on it. This shouldn't be a problem for me as I won't be carrying it around form place to place. I'll just be using it at home occasionally. And, as you'd expect, it reads cards when they're inserted. I've not confirmed the stated speed (lines to short for that sort of thing) but it seemed plenty quick enough.Oh, and if you're interested, there was nothing on the memory sticks. I probably reformatted them years ago but have forgot...

The Mtakya 8-in-1 USB3.0 Multi Memory Card Reader arrives in a printed non-recyclable plastic ziploc bag.Printed on the bag are the FCC, CE and RoHS marks that confirm that this product meets USA & EU conformity standards and is free of hazardous substances. The card reader is a light weight compact and portable card reader that supports a wide range of memory cards, including SD, microSD, CF, MS, and more. It also features a USB3.0 port for fast data transfer speeds. It does however feel on the flimsy side.I have tried it on a MAC Pro M1. The first disadvantage is that it has a USB-A socket connector and therefore you have to use an adaptor. The same problem would exist for my pixel chromebook. I connected it via an appropriated adaptor and although the blue light showed - no additional device appeared on my desktop. I tried a few times and eventually got a no name show. When I put a SD in the first time the no name disappeared from my desktop. After trying different ways and rebooting I found that the reader worked best if a SD card or USB memory stick was inserted into the reader prior to connecting the reader to the Mac. It did work and was quick when I used this technique.Overall it supports a wide range of memory cards; has fast data transfer speed; is compact and portable; has plug-and-play functionality and at £9.00 is affordable. However it does not have a carry case and for my needs I would only buy a card reader that feels more solid and has a USB-C connector

I needed a USB A compatible card reader as my laptop is only equipped with a single USB C slot that I use for connecting it to my dock. The card reader is a light weight, compact and portable and supports a wide range of memory cards, including SD, microSD, CF, MS, and more. It also features a USB3.0 port for fast data transfer speeds. Very useful to keep in my laptop case.
